Germany is experiencing a labour shortage due to the ageing population increase. With this challenge, the government of Germany has introduced the Opportunity Card Visa, which simplifies the whole process of immigration. This step has been taken to increase the presence of skilled labour from other countries.

Previously, two types would apply: Job Seekers, and Tourist and Visitor visas. 

The German job seeker visa is available for six months with some limitations, like you can only go with your dependents or work if you change your Visa to a working Visa.

The tourist and visitor visa is available for three months with limitations also.

Opportunity card Visa unlike the other Visa will be valid for one year, giving you a longer time to seek and find opportunities.

Professional Qualification

In Germany, aspiring nurses must have academic qualifications to work in the field. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Bachelor of Arts in Nursing (BAN), or a diploma in nursing from an accredited institution is typically necessary. These academic programs last about three years, including theoretical coursework and practical training in healthcare settings. Upon completing the program, graduates must pass the state examination known as “Staatsexamen für Gesundheits- und Krankenpflege” to obtain their nursing license. Minimum of 3 years of experience

When making your application to qualify for the Visa, you will need to have practised in your home country for at least three years.

English or German Language
