The Lagos State Government has unveiled a new scholarship program aimed at supporting students pursuing degrees in engineering and geosciences for the 2024/2025 academic year. This initiative is part of the state’s efforts to nurture talent and drive innovation in critical sectors that contribute to the region’s economic growth and development.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Lagos State Section Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a bonafide resident of Lagos State, with verifiable proof of residency.
  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited university within Nigeria, pursuing a degree in engineering or geosciences (geology, geophysics, etc.).
  • Maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale or its equivalent.
  • Demonstrate financial need through supporting documentation.

Application Process

Interested students can apply online by completing the application form and providing the required documents, including:

  • Proof of residency in Lagos State
  • Admission letter from the university
  • Academic transcripts

The application window is open from June 1st to July 31st, 2024. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
