Supporting Women Leaders in STEM
The Faculty for the Future program goes beyond providing financial aid. It aims to create a global community of women leaders in STEM who can drive change.
Fellows have the opportunity to network, collaborate with peers, and access mentoring to support their personal and professional development.
By conducting cutting-edge research abroad and bringing their expertise back home, alumnae of the program are making an impact.
They are advancing scientific discovery, enhancing teaching, applying solutions to development challenges, and inspiring girls to study STEM.
Empowering these talented women is key to unleashing the potential of emerging economies.
“Receiving the Faculty for the Future fellowship was a life-changing opportunity,” said Dr. Jessica Salcedo, an IHE Delft alumna from Peru who completed her PhD with support from the program.
“Not only did it allow me to gain expertise from a leading global institute, but I have been able to transfer that knowledge to students in my home country and apply it to solve water challenges in Latin America. I’m committed to ensuring that more women enter and excel in STEM fields.”
A Sustained Commitment to Advancing STEM
Over the past two decades, the Schlumberger Foundation has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to strengthening STEM education, especially for women and girls.
Through strategic partnerships and programs, the Foundation aims to build the pipeline of future innovators.
In addition to the Faculty for the Future grants, the Schlumberger Foundation supports STEM outreach initiatives in countries around the world.
From providing hands-on science learning for students to training teachers in interactive approaches, these programs spark passion for STEM from an early age. Engaging girls is a priority to help them see the possibilities of a career in science or engineering.
Looking ahead, the Schlumberger Foundation remains committed to its vision of a future where women are at the forefront of scientific discovery and technological innovation.
Through the Faculty for the Future program and other initiatives, the Foundation will continue breaking down barriers and empowering a global network of women STEM leaders.
