Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the UBC International Scholars Program, applicants must:
- Be an international student studying in Canada on a Canadian study permit
- Enter UBC from a recognized secondary school or transfer from first year at a post-secondary institution
- Have graduated from high school no earlier than June 2023 (for 2025 entry)
- Apply for their first undergraduate degree
- Demonstrate superior academic achievement (all As or equivalent)
- Show financial need that would prevent them from pursuing a UBC degree without assistance
- Meet UBC’s admission requirements, including English Language Admission Standard
Note: Applicants for the Vantage One Excellence Award must not yet meet the English Language Admission Standard for direct UBC admission but must meet UBC Vantage College admission requirements.
