The Government of the Slovak Republic is offering a fully-funded scholarship program for international students in 2025.
The National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic (NSP) supports the mobility of students, PhD students, university teachers, researchers, and artists for scholarship stays at higher education institutions and research organizations in Slovakia.

About the Scholarship
The NSP is funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic through the state budget.
It aims to promote international cooperation in education and research by providing scholarships to foreign nationals for study, research, or artistic stays at Slovak universities and research institutions.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the NSP, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a citizen of any country in the world (except Slovakia)
- Be a university student enrolled at a university outside Slovakia
- For master’s students, have completed at least 2.5 years of university studies in the same program by the application deadline
- Be accepted by a public, private, or state university in Slovakia for an academic mobility stay
- Meet the specific requirements set by the Slovak host institution
- Have not spent 12 or more months in Slovakia within the last 36 months prior to the application deadline

The NSP is ideal for:
- International students pursuing a master’s degree outside Slovakia
- PhD students conducting research or artistic activities
- University teachers, researchers, and artists invited by Slovak institutions for teaching, research, or artistic stays
Benefits
The NSP provides the following benefits to scholarship recipients:
- Monthly stipend to cover living costs in Slovakia:650 € for master’s students
- 1,025.50 € for PhD students
- 1,050 € for university teachers, researchers, and artists with PhD and more than 10 years of experience
- Travel allowances based on the distance from the scholarship holder’s place of origin to Slovakia
- Accommodation and assistance with formalities related to staying in Slovakia

- Acceptance letter from Slovak host institution
